Things I Can't Forget Blog Tour

Hey everyone! Here is my interview with Miranda Kenneally as a guest post! Big Thank you to Giselle @ Xpresso Reads Book Tours!

Did you base any of the characters on people in your life in Things I Can't Forget?

I did not, but I will admit that I stole Matt’s appearance from a very cute frat guy I knew in college!
.
Favorite character to write about?

My favorite all-time character to write about is Sam Henry. I myself never know when he’s going to show up or what he’s going to do in any of my books.

There’s a scene in STEALING PARKER where they’re on the bus and Sam Henry starts talking about a very inappropriate object he found in the school parking lot. I’ll give you a hint – it is like “Bilbo” only with Ds. Anyhow, when Sam announced this when I was writing (I didn’t plan it), I emailed my friend author Trish Doller and told her what Sam was saying. Trish wrote back, “Why in the world did Sam Henry do that?!” And I said, “I have no clue.”

I never even planned to write him as a character! One day when I was writing CATCHING JORDAN and he just showed up and never left.

.Whats your favorite book and why?
Hard question? My favorite book? JELLICOE ROAD? Why? Jonah.

Tell us about your next book Racing Savannah?

It’s more like CATCHING JORDAN than my other books! Savannah is poorer than any of my other characters, and because she’s underprivileged, she has self-esteem issues. Her dad is a groom, and they live together in the staff quarters on a high-stakes horse farm. Savannah trains to become a jockey while falling for the owner’s son, Jack. I think it’s kind of like “Sabrina” meets “Downton Abbey” in the South.

Describe your book in 5 words?

Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different…

This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her.

Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy…
