But looks can be deceiving and besides, opposites attract. What starts as friendship, turns into admiration, respect and caring, until finally these two lone souls find they are truly in love with each other. But staying in love is not as easy as falling in love. If Dylan and Gray want their love to last, they’re going to have to work at it. Summer Lovin Blog Tour- While He Was Away by Karen Schreck (Guest Post)

Image
“Love Can Conquer Any Distance . . . Right?”             If you look closely at the cover of While He Was Away , you’ll see that the title of this post also serves as the caption for my novel.             A caption that reminds me of another famous quote:             Absence makes the heart grow fonder.             And this one, which I always thought came from that wild novel from the 1970s, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, but which, it turns out, is actually an ancient Chinese proverb:             If you love something, set it free.   If it comes back to you, it’s yours.   If it doesn’t, it never was.               The only things ...

Pretty Amy Blog Tour- Interview

Image
Check out my Interview with Lisa!! Thank you Entangled Publishing for letting me participate in the tour! 1) How did you come up with the idea for Pretty Amy?    I was arrested during my senior year of high school, not for the same reason Amy was, but that was where the kernel came from. I also knew I wanted to write a "shocking" book from a teenage girl's point of view. I feel like you can get away with your character being a murderer, or a jerk, or just a smart ass more easily if your book isn't contemporary and I wanted to try to break that mold with PRETTY AMY. I also wanted to write a contemporary YA book that was about what real teens go through. I feel like teenage girl's lives are complex and I hoped to show that in PRETTY AMY. 2) How would you describe your books in 3 words?  Funny, Raw, Bittersweet 3) What was your favorite scene to write?  The scene with the girls in the school bathroom on prom night. They were just b...
