If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?
Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.
Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.
Review:
In this amazing debut about witches! Hexed was a fun read that had a contemporary take on witches. Indigo is a very authentic teen because she goes through romance, being a cheerleader who is down to earth. Michelle Krys' writing is addicting and full of fun scenes that will make you laugh! This take of witches is definitely unique! I really love the cover, it catches your attention immediately (knew I had to get my hands on this book!) Something Witchy is definitely coming this way this June!
Indigo is a character you can relate to, though she may seem popular, and has popular friends which is okay, she seems to have it all but her real friendship is with Paige (neighbors). Her journey of just discovering she is a witch, coming to her powers as death seems to follow her as well as a missing old Bible that has been in her family for years. A warlock warns her that if she does not get it back it will be the end of their race as witches and sorcerers. I did love the introduction of Bishop from the beginning because he . He provided a lot of humor and swoon-worthy moments! Indigo reminded me of Evie from Kiersten White's Paranormalcy series! Even though the romance was a little insta-love it was good the way it developed between Bishop and Indigo.
This world was interesting and I look forward to the next book in the series! That ending was OMG!! I will definitely be reading that sequel! Michelle Krys is an author to look out for! Looking forward to getting to know Indigo and Bishop better because these characters as well as secondary were awesome (Jezebel)!!Hexed was addicting and full of drama, action and excitement, if you love witches and paranormal this is the book for you!
