A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

Review:

Sarah J. Maas you are amazing at writing books because like the Throne of Glass series, I was instantly hooked !! This is a Fae retelling of Beauty and the Beast which was haunting and compelling! Tamlin has to be one of my favorite male leads (HOT) and her characters are strong and fierce! .  Sarah J. Maas is a brilliant writer who knows how to hook you in immediately and finish her books in one day.

When nineteen year old Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, she later finds out that it was a faerie in disguise. Torn away from her family, she is forced to live with her captor, Tamlin on his estate. She doesn't trust Tamlin and his court but as time goes on she begins to learn more about their world as well as a curse that has fallen upon their land.

What I liked most about this book was how well developed the characters were. Feyre is smart, strong and wants to help provide for her family. Tamlin may have taken a while but it was totally worth the wait. He is hot, swoony and just knows how to make you smile.  The book definitely has some steamy parts and took things to a new level than her other series (Throne of Glass) but it was totally appreciated because I kinda fell in love with him. Then Rhys who also surprised me with his wit and his friendship with Tamlin. I look forward to seeing more of his character in the next book!

This is one of my favorites of the year! I recommend any of Sarah J. Maas' books because they are full of fantasy, romance and mystery! The world building in this book was created like you can imagine it right in front of you which is easy to do with her books.  This retelling of Beauty and the Beast will blow you away with its strong writing and amazing characters. Overall, A Court of Thorns and Roses will appeal to readers who love the elements of romance, action, and a lot more! I am very excited to see what Sarah has up her sleeve for the sequel!
