Summary (Goodreads)

Dangerous secrets and forbidden desires lead to shocking consequences… Don’t miss book two of the fantastical Harbinger trilogy from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout.

“Jennifer L. Armentrout’s intoxicating new fantasy is her best yet!” —
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter on Storm and Fury

A half human, half angel and her bonded gargoyle protector must work with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming…but who or what is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as dark forces gather.

As tensions rise, they must stay close together and patrol the DC streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. Forbidden to be with each other, Zayne and Trinity fight their feelings and turn to unusual sources for help—the demon Roth and his cohorts. But as deaths pile up and they uncover a sinister plot involving the local high school and endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.

Review:

As always I was sucked back into the very addicting Harbinger series by one of my favourite authors, Jennifer L. Armentrout. I always love being back in this world of gargoyle's and demons especially Zayne and Trinity's world. You are immediately pulled in that you won't be able to put it down. I feel like I was also crying through some scenes. Now to wish I had the next book! As you can see this series is one everyone needs to invest in as well as her Dark Elements series. Plus Team Zayne!

The second book in the Harbinger series brings Trinity and Zayne are back and are bonded as protected and true born as well as finding out more information about the Harbinger.  It picks up right where we left off in Storm and Fury and they are still trying to stop the acoplaspe as well as they are forbidden to be with each other.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of those authors who brings her stories to life and connect her readers so well with her characters who are strong and funny. Trinity is one of those characters who also has RPN and is feeling insure about some things which makes her relatable too many readers. I'm so proud of Jen for writing this character, because she is so tough like her other book characters (Alex). She is determined and willing to try anything! Plus I was so happy to see Roth and Layla again!! There scenes were the best and made me laugh!

Zayne has changed so much since the Dark Elements series. He is definitely one that like to think before he acts. He has grown so much until now and while I've always been a fan of Zayne it was great to see him grow as a man/warden. I love Zayne and Trinity together. He is very protective of her  and they have such amazing chemistry that every scene with them was them overcoming all these obstacles in order to be together.

The entire book was amazing from start to finish. I wish it didn't have to end the way it did because now I'm in totally complete shock that I need the next book immediately in my hands. I think everyone needs to read this series. If you are a JLA fan like I am you are definitely auto-buying all her books! Also stay safe during these times!!
