Summary (Goodreads)
From the desperation of golden crowns…
Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.
And born of mortal flesh…
Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.
A great primal power rises…
Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.
As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Review:
HOLY SH*T!!
I'm at a loss for words after finishing The War of Two Queens (TWOTQ). I feel like my mind is blown into many pieces after reading it. This book is a masterpiece. If you have read my reviews in the past you would know I'm a huge fan of Jen's since 2011. Her writing since has made me addicted to read anything she will write because they are all amazing. She has out done herself with this one because I would give her a standing ovation.
The War of Two Queens is the fourth book in the Blood and Ash series and it has so many twists and turns that you won't expect. Poppy's family tree is definitely the most intriguing as well as many other characters we start to get to know better. I would recommend you read A Shadow in the Ember before reading this. There is very important information that you will need to know. So go pick it up!
One thing I did love in this one was Poppy and Cas. I will always enjoy reading about them and the things that Casteel says will make you swoon. I was definitely highlighting as I was reading because the information was so important because while we love the romance, this one was plot driven and I loved learning everything along with Poppy. JLA's character development was phenomenal, these characters have gone through so much especially Poppy as she is coming into her powers in each book. She is a total badass even as a Queen.
This book was absolutely epic! I'm already looking forward to the fifth book and the next Flesh and Fire book! Thank you Jen for allowing me to review all of your amazing books. I cannot wait to see what will happen! If you haven't started this series yet, go do it immediately!
5/5
