“More than a
ridiculously sexy, HOT read, Desrochers takes you on a wild ride of
self-discovery and bittersweet romance.”
— JENNIFER L.
ARMENTROUT, #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR
Lexie Banks has.
Yep. She just had
mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound,
and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son
situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better
part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s
leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.
But even thousands of
miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to
confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in
hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro
Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from
becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s
signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to
think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and
the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either
way.
Review:
This book was definitely a favorite in the romance/New Adult category since it had everything that I would want to read in this genre. A Little Too Far is definitely a unique kind of book because you fall in love with both of the male leads and wonder who is she going to pick! I was on the edge of my seat wondering between Trent (Hot step-brother or Alessandro (priest)). It was heartbreaking, teary eye and beautiful. It was an addictive read because I sped through it in 2 days. This story has romance and it opens up your mind to what it means to discovering true love. A Little Too Far is about self-discovery and becoming who you want to be. Each character goes through this journey.
It first starts off with Lexi Banks discovering that her ex cheated on her, and while she considers getting back together with him she also has new feelings resurfacing with and entirely new person, Trent. Lexi definitely goes a little too far by sleeping with him. But Lexi has already had feelings for him since she was fifteen. Trent is her best friend. I loved Trent, he is a musician and has tattoos and owns his own bike. She is one hot man! Two nights before her exchange to Rome for school things get heated up and intense between them. Lexi also mentions that this was the most mind-blowing passion in her life. After everything they both feel guilt and shame. The mixed feelings between them all throughout the book make you want to hope they make it in the end. As the reader I felt the chemistry between them.
Lexi does got to Italy where she meets the intelligent and handsome Alessandro who is also a new and upcoming priest. Alessandro really got underneath my skin because of his personality and how he treated Lexi with the utmost respect. But with Lexi's track record she is already having thoughts about him too. Torn between both men Lexi must confess and discover herself. A Little Too Far will leave you hanging for more and it will either cause your heart to break or leave you breathless. Lisa Desrochers writing left me hooked! From the very first page to the last I enjoyed every minute of reading this novel. It was an explosive read!

ReplyDeleteI always go a little too far with books, sweets, soda, and always definitely with opening my big mouth...lol
ReplyDeleteI go overboard on books, food and chocolate. Thanks for the review and the giveaway .
ReplyDeleteMy mom is really strict when it comes to curfew and dating. During that time, I was dating this guy who's a cop and my mom never knew about it. He wanted me to stay the night with him. I said yes, but I chickened out around 3AM. I told him, I made up an excuse that I have a test tomorrow and I need to study. I don't think he bought it though but he drove me back to our house. That's the last time I ever saw him. LOL! That's my 'little too far'.
ReplyDeleteToo far with pastries and chips and salsa! lol Woe to my hips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!
I've probably stepped past the grey and into the 'too far' zone, but no instances come immediately to mind. I'm usually a by-the-book kinda gal :) Thanks for the giveaway! A Little Too Far sounds like a very enticing read!
