Sometimes life leaves a mark...
Most days, Andrea doesn’t know whether she wants to kiss Tanner or punch him in the gut. He is seriously hot, with legit bedroom eyes and that firefighter body of his, but he’s a major player, and they can’t get along for more than a handful of minutes. Until now.
Tanner knows he and Andrea have had an epic love/hate relationship for as long as he can remember, but he wants more love than hate from her. He wants her. Now. Tomorrow. But the more he gets to know her, the more it becomes obvious that Andrea has a problem. She’s teetering on the edge, and every time he tries to catch her, she slips through his fingers.
Andrea’s life is spiraling out of control, and it doesn’t matter that Tanner wants to save her, because when everything falls apart and she’s speeding toward rock-bottom, only she can save herself.
Sometimes life makes you work for that happily ever after...
Review
After waiting so long to read this book it was definitely worth the wait! Plus how awesome does the cover look? Jennifer L. Armentrout once again gives her readers a story about love, friendship, her own humor and swoony male leads! Andrea's life unfolds in Scorched and it was not easy but at the same time you want her to be happy. Plus you get to see more Sydney and Kyler!!
Andrea is one tough chick who is also troubled. She has to deal with many problems that she is trying to hide from her friends. I think lots of people can relate to her because its one of those subjects like panic attacks, and drinking. Though I don't go through all of what she is going through I can understand how she feels that the fear sometimes won't go away.
JLA makes her readers more aware of the real issues of what happens in real life in Scorched like mental health. Tanner and Andrea's relationship was very interesting from the start since she did have a crush on him at the beginning but they never liked each other to begin with. Syd and Kyler both invite Andrea and Tanner to come on a trip with them for hiking etc. Their banter is so funny at first but underneath, Tanner would do anything for Andrea as their romance has spiked and he is also a very good support for Andrea even though she does push him away. The way many situations played out was great and to see how supportive her family is during this time and Tanner as well doesn't want to walk away. Plus he is soo hot!
Overall, I loved this book from the beginning until the very last pages. I couldn't put it down when I was reading it on the plane! Jen is one of those authors that knows how to pull you in and is easy to relate to. If I could recommend one author she would be one of them since she writes amazing stories and a strong female heroine who is very strong willed. I already need more of her books!
