Hey Everyone!!!
On S&S Gallery Grab, I read Sometimes It Happens by Lauren Barnholdt. I was so excited to see that it was in there so I took the chance and read it pr I have read her other young adult books, The Night That Changed Everything, Two Way Street and Aces Up. All these books were really well written and are part of my favorite books. Sometimes It Happens was beautifully written and I loved the plot and the series of events that occurred throughout the novel. Barnholdt really does a good job with her story lines by starting off the beginning with the first day of school during Hannah’s first day of senior year and with each chapter we go from future to the past by the next chapter we find out that Hannah has been cheated on her boyfriend Sebastian with a end of the year party, where Hannah sees him kissing another girl while playing volleyball. So her best friend Ava and her boyfriend Noah help her through this part of the breakup between Hannah and Sebastian. I really did not like Sebastian because he treated Hannah and their relationship for granted because she is worth more than that. You feel her sorrow through this second chapter. Back to the first chapter, and Hannah is starting senior year and she talks about her summer and her job at Cooley’s you she thinks is a seller of drugs because of the way he looks. She got the job because of Noah, who is helping her with her. I loved each characters personality and the love that is shown through the scenes with Hannah’s ex and also with Noah in the mix makes it even better. I even felt sorry for some the characters because of why they go through But throughout the story you see that Noah and Hannah are alike in some of the scenes during the summer and Barnholdt does a really good job of intertwining the past and the future in her novel. I wont give too much away because I don’t want to ruin the story for all you but it is a must read on my list of books for those who love her novels and who also love romance novels. Personally I loved the book and I cannot wait until Lauren Barnholdt’s next novel to come in the near future. Plus the cover is really pretty!
