Armchair BEA: Author Interaction (Day 2)

Let’s talk interacting with authors IRL (in real life) or online. This is your opportunity to talk about your favorite author readings that you have attended. Or, you can feature your favorite author fan moment (i.e., an author sent you a tweet or commented on your blog). Maybe you even want to share how your interactions have changed since becoming a blogger or share your own tips that you have learned along the way when interacting with authors as a blogger.
~
I actually have not attended any of my favorite author reading. This is because not many authors come up to my area in Northern Canada. I have had favorite fan moments with my favorite authors like Jennifer L. Armentrout, Michelle Krys (who I know), Miranda Kenneally and many others. My interactions with them changed since I was becoming a blogger due to their awesome support in acknowledging bloggers who help them while they are writing and get input. I even call some of them my friend now. Being acknowledged in a book definitely makes me feel that I am supporting these authors novels. Thank You Jen!

Hopefully I can maybe attend more signings in the future because I would LOVE to meet all my favorite authors in one place! My tip to other bloggers about interacting with authors would be to have fun and get to know them when you see them in person or even in emails for blog tours.

  1. You know, I forgot to include in my post about being named in an author's books. I have two that I have edited that I got a comment about me in, and one where I was a beta reader. They are all indie authors, but they are still awesome.

  2. How nice that JA gave such a great shout out. It does change once we start being recognized from an author or get a quote on a book. I don't know. Maybe it's because we see the value in what we do at that point if we haven't already.
Authors seldom come to where we are either. I have to make the trip and will only do so when there are enough authors there to justify the flights, drive, and/or hotels.
    Love the blog, btw.

  3. I've been quoted on bookmarks before, which has been scary! Never noted in a book, unless you count for a Kickstarter I participated in. That's so awesome. I hope some authors make their way up to your area soon!

  9. Oh wow, that is absolutely amazing! I got really excited when an author mentioned me on his website, but to be thanked in a book is the best! I also love how open some authors are to blogger input! I hope you get to meet some of your favourite authors soon!
Great answer, hopefully I'll see you at the Twitter party later!
