Can there truly be love after death?

Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life--or her actual death--she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but "will" him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.

Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, "Hereafter" is a sensation you won't want to miss.

Review:

In Tara Hudson's debut Hereafter was Amazing! I thought it was full of thrill, mystery and every detail was like I was there. I fell in love with the story and Amelia + Joshua all at once!! It had a lot of twists and turns that will make you think after you read it. From the very first pages and learning bits of pieces of Amelia throughout the book was very well done because the character grew as well.

The entire story was very put together soo well that I had to know what happened to Amelia and the reason for her death will shock you and I devoured this book !!! It will suck you in because it was addicting and will always keep you interested!  Amelia's nightmares replays some of her death and how she drowned at High Bridge, when she wakes up she see a boy who crashed in this river where she died and saves him. We meet our next character Joshua, who is adorable, cute and is willing to help Amelia piece together her death because he can see her, problem is others can't, but he has the ability to touch her and speak to her. Josh was such a great character because he will make your whole day brighter!! Their connection was great because Josh liked her for who she was, and encourages her to find out who she was.

Eli was a very complex character who loved to have his way. He has a way of making you mad because his personality and what he did to both Amelia and Joshua were like OMG moments that you couldn't believe that happened. I didn't like what he did, but he was a good character to set the balance of good and evil.

Each character plays a role in this book and you have to pay attention to the details, I had to re-read one part because the scene was soo intense that I had to read the details. I loved the ending, and it had my attention and alert of what was happening! Tara Hudson's writing was very well done and it kept me wanting more by the end!!! I am looking forward to the sequel Arise and to find out what will happen next to these characters!! If you haven't read this book, definitely pick it up if you like supernatural!!

5/5
