Review:
This book was AMAZING!! I loved everything about this book, from the characters, the plot and even the romance. Learning about the future can be a good thing or a bad thing because you never know what will happen during your course. Oooh, 1996, now this brought me back in time, but I was only 5 years old during this time, but it was still fun to see how computers still has changed society, even Facebook. I loved the writing especially because both Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler are brilliant writers. This collaboration was intelligent, beautiful because it gives us a better understanding of how Facebook has changed our lives. AOL seems soo far away!
Its easy to connect with these characters while reading the book. Some parts were soo funny that I was laughing out loud, that it was a complete blast from the past while remembering how much has changed in 15 years
When Emma and Josh find Facebook but 15 years in advance, they question both of their futures. The book is set within a week, and in that week Emma and Josh go and define their relationship as friends. With the ups and downs they go through, it is worth it that they have each other as best friends. Their best friends were by their side the entire book which I liked. I thought the CD ROM was a little funny as a way to discover Facebook.
Emma is one of my favorite characters because during this entire book we see her grow into a women. As normal people when we stumble upon a site we like (twitter) we always have to check our status, and Emma does this with finding Facebook and checking her future self and gets so caught up on changing it that it affects her relationship with Josh. Both characters are soo much fun that you see the change and are rooting for them in the end! I loved the alternate point of views, it was easy to get to know each of them this way, and what they thought!
This book is great for ages 13 +, or those who would love to go back to the 90s, it was one great read, and I will be definitely be reading this book again! Pick this book up right away, you will not regret it!! Both authors did a beautiful job at creating this story, I hope they do more collaborations in the future!!!
